A certain car that makes you go “I’ll know everything after I get one of these.”
For me it’s an aircooled car.

Mine probably changes every week. for now it’s something styled like a wedge with the engine in the middle

McLaren P1. I might not know everything, but by god I’ll be rich enough to not care.

Don’t get your hopes up, I still don’t have a fucking clue.

It could be air-cooled for me too, but it’d a 911SC. A Ferrari 308 would complete me though.

Mine wouldn’t be a specific car. But a car that has failed you in some way forcing you to overcome a situation.

A two stroke car, that may do it for me. But more in the “sensei teach me patience” type way.

Viper, any Viper. I know I won’t own it for long but I’m betting the experience will be with me for all my life.

The day I personally own anything with at least 300 HP. I crave for more power in a daily driver.

I’ve got a few personal ones.
Rotary cars? Mazda RX-8. That’s right, in order to go to ones like the RX-7, Cosmo, REPU, and RX-3, you go through the most recent rotary engined car.
Mazda Miatas? Go from the NA up to the ND.
The 914 also makes a great rite of passage car for Porsche in general.
I say you should go from a standard Subaru Impreza, up to the WRX, then to the STi.
Same goes with the Ford Focus, then to the ST, then the RS.
Should we put the CLA as a rite of passage for Mercedes-Benz, or perhaps a Metris?

Mustangs and Camaros. You have to try one at least once with a V8 to fully understand these cars; affordable ‘Murican V8 speed and horsepower. Even as a faithful Miata owner, I keep getting giddy when I get to drive my father’s ‘Stang. The noise, the acceleration, and the overall feeling of having 300+ hp at the touch of the gas pedal for less than the price of a new base model Camry (if you’re buying a used pony/muscle car).

I got a Corvair that I had to tow home. I have some big plans for this winter, I just had one of my two diffentials setup and verified good yesterday. The other needs major rebuilding.

yes......... its called the “basket case”..............
they come in lots of shapes and sizes, but when you can turn a car into an utter and complete basket case, and then return it being a functioning driving car, you have a decent handle on things........

Any car with points and carbs.
